The 74th edition of NBA All-Star kicked off with an All-Star Celebrity Game at Bay Area. Top music, entertainment, sports and streaming celebrities participated in the exhibition game. These celebrities were divided in two teams, Team Bonds and Team Rice.

The 2025 All-Star Celebrity Game was the first event of the All-Star weekend, followed by the Rising Stars competition at Chase Center in San Francisco. MLB star, Barry Bonds and former NFL star, Jerry Rice were the coaches of their respective teams.

The match was full of thrill and drama but Barry Bonds had the last laugh. Team Bonds squeezed past Team Rice 66-55 on Friday night.

Both teams were tied at 10 points at the end of the first quarter but Team Bonds shifted the momentum in the second period by outscoring Team Rice 21-16. The third quarter wasn’t easy for Team Rice as they were outscored again and the MLB legend’s team held a 12-point lead heading into the final quarter.

Team Rice tried to pull off the comeback and outscored the Team Bonds but couldn’t cross the line. Rome Flynn led all the scorers with 22 points for Team Bonds. WNBA star, Rickea Jackson contributed 16 points in the win.

NFL Hall of Famer, Terrell Owens added 18 points for Team Rice while Shelby McEwen, Olympic high jumper, added 14 including a couple of highlighted plays. The Indo-Canadian singer AP Dhillon scored eight points.

Who was the MVP of 2025 All-Star Celebrity Game?

Rome Flynn was named MVP of the 2025 All-Star Celebrity Game for his outstanding performance for Team Bonds. The 33-year-old scored a game-high 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists. His 11 points out of 22 came in the second quarter.

Rome Flynn reached 15 points in the third quarter and added seven more in the final period to clinch the MVP award. Rome Flynn is a well-known actor and got appreciation for his TV series, “How to Get Away with Murder” and “Chicago Fire.”

“I’m a team player,” Flynn said after winning the MVP honors and said his teammates encouraged him to win it.
