Who won Monday Night Football last night? Week 14 Monday Night Football Results

Ashwin Rawat

With the game poised at 20-20, a punt blocking attempt went horribly wrong for the Cowboys!

Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season was an action-packed week, to say the least. A week that started with a Thursday Night Football thriller between the Lions and Packers ended with a Monday Night Football game between the Cowboys and the Bengals.

There is too much to catch up on for this week’s games. Russell Wilson and co. avenging their loss to the Browns, Chiefs narrowly pulling off a win against the Chargers on Sunday Night Football, Dolphins knocking out the Jets out of playoff contention, Sam Darnold and the Vikings turning Kirk Cousins’ homecoming into a nightmare- so much happened this week!

But who won Monday Night Football last night? Let’s find out.

Who won the Monday Night Football game last night?

The Cincinnati Bengals won the Monday Night Football game last night. The Cowboys were 5-7 entering the game and the Bengals were 4-8. With the game poised at 20-20, a punt blocking attempt went horribly wrong for the Cowboys and became the talking point of the night.

The Cowboys were bound to get the ball back after the 2-minute warning. Cowboys Linebacker Nick Vigil succeeded in an attempt to block Ryan Rehkow’s punt. But things took a drastic turn. Cowboys Cornerback Amani Oruwariye made contact with the ball but failed to corral it.

The ball was live after being knocked off the hands of the Dallas CB and to make matters worse, the Bengals recovered it.

As a result of gaining the possession back, the Bengals scored the game winning touchdown 3 plays after the blocked punt muffed by Amani Oruwariye. Burrow found wideout Ja’Marr Chase for the late TD as the Bengals snapped Dallas’ 2-game win streak!

The Bengals quarterback yet again proved why he is one of the best QBs in the league. Joey B was clinical in Cincy’s win over Dallas as he had 33 completions on 44 attempts for a completion percentage of 75%, 369 passing yards for 3 touchdowns and 1 interception.

With 33 passing touchdowns for 3,709 yards in 13 games with a 285.1 yards per game average, Joe Burrow leads his rival QBs as he comfortably takes the 1st spot in the 3 categories. This is Burrow’s 4th straight game with 300+ yards.

Joe Burrow would have been in the season MVP conversation, if not for the Bengals’ poor defense failing him regularly and their losing record (5-8) through week 14.

Ja’Marr Chase joined Randy Moss as one of the two players in NFL history with 5000 yards and 40 touchdowns in their first 4 seasons. The Bengals wideout is headed towards a ‘Wide Receiver Triple Crown’ as he leads the 2024 season for the most receiving yards (1319), receptions (93), and receiving touchdowns (15) through week 14.

With this win, the Bengals are still alive in the race of the playoffs. They play their next game against the Tennessee Titans (3-10) who are already out of playoff contention. The Bengals need to win their remaining games against the Titans, the Browns, the Broncos and the Steelers to stand a chance to qualify for the postseason.
