Who plays on Thursday Night Football tonight? Week 17 Thursday Night Football TV Channel, Kick-Off Time

Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season started early due to Christmas festivities. The Chiefs enjoyed the day to the fullest with a win over the Steelers as they also clinched the AFC’s number 1 seed. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens destroyed the Texans 31-2 to move to the top spot in the AFC North.

The week 17 Thursday Night Football game is going to be an All-NFC affair, with some serious playoff implications for one of the two teams in action. The team from NFC West looks to match the number of wins with their division leader while the NFC North side tries to break their losing streak.

This will be the penultimate TNF game for this season and we are already sad that the regular season is approaching its end. So, who plays on Thursday Night Football tonight? It’s time to get into the details.

Who’s playing on Thursday Night Football?

Week 17 Thursday Night Football game will be played between the Seattle Seahawks (8-7) and the Chicago Bears (4-11). The Bears are already out of the playoff contention this season. But the Seahawks are on the bubble with a 13% probability to make it to the postseason.

The Seahawks are coming off two tough losses against the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings. Once 8-5 with a better probability to qualify for the postseason, Geno Smith and co. find themselves hanging on to it by a thread. They have their fate in their own hands though.

Not only will they have to win out their remaining games, they will also hope for the Rams to lose their next game to the Cardinals. As for the final game, they will meet Matthew Stafford and the Rams again, their divisional rivals they lost to 26-20 earlier this season!

It is an entirely different scenario of the Chicago Bears though. They just can’t catch a break from losing. They are on a 9-game losing streak and the only team who has fared worse in the losing streak department is the NY Giants.

Geno Smith has thrown 17 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in the 15 games he has played this season. He ties with the Buccaneers signal caller Baker Mayfield, but Mayfield has exactly double the amount of touchdowns (34). Only man who has thrown more interceptions than him is Falcons’ benched QB KIrk Cousins.

Caleb Williams has 19 TDs and 5 interceptions this season. He also holds the active streak for most consecutive pass attempts without an interception among rookies in NFL history at 326. Let’s have a look at the Bears vs. Seahawks head-to-head record.

Bears vs. Seahawks Head-to-Head Record

The Seattle Seahawks lead the overall head to head record against the Chicago Bears by 11-8-0. The Seahawks hold a 3-2 advantage in the last 5 games but it is the Bears who have won the last 2 games.

Interestingly, the last time these two teams met was also on the next day after Christmas, back in 2021 when Russell Wilson used to play for the Seahawks!

What time does Thursday Night Football start tonight?

Week 17 Thursday Night Football game between the Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks will kick-off at 8:15 p.m. ET from the Soldier Field in Chicago on December 26, 2024. This will be a home game for the Bears, who are 4-4 in their home games this season.

The Seattle Seahawks are 5-1 in away games, so it might be a good thing for them after all!

What channel is Thursday Night Football on tonight?

The Bears vs. Seahawks game tonight will be telecast live on Amazon Prime Video at 8:15 p.m. ET from the Soldier Field in Chicago.
