To close off Week 16, Monday Night Football tonight features an NFC North vs. NFC South clash!
Week 16 of the 2024 NFL season saw multiple teams getting knocked out of playoff contention. The 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals lost their respective games and along with that, their playoff hopes too. Mike McCarthy’s boys at the Cowboys beat the Bucs but the Commanders beating the Eagles in the closing seconds of the Q4 called it curtains on Dallas’ playoff chances.
To close off Week 16, Monday Night Football tonight features an NFC North vs. NFC South clash. The two teams in action will have different agendas in mind. For the team from the NFC North, it is about winning all the games left and finishing on a high. The NFC South team is out of playoff contention and would like to redeem what is left of the season.
So, who plays on Monday Night Football tonight? Let’s find out.
Week 16 Monday Night Football game will be played between the Green Bay Packers (10-4) and the New Orleans Saints (5-9). For this MNF game tonight, Jordan Love and co. will play host to Spencer Rattler and the Saints at the Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Two of Green Bay’s win streaks (4 and 3 games) were broken by their NFC North rivals, the Detroit Lions. Though ranked 3rd in the NFC North behind the Lions and the Vikings, Matt LeFleur’s men are not to be counted out. The Packers have been touted by many as the dark horses of the playoffs for the 2024 season.
Jordan Love has been overshadowed by his over-achieving peers like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Jared Goff. But take nothing away from the Green Bay QB. Love has thrown for 2,953 yards this season for 23 passing touchdowns while averaging 246.1 yards per game. Running Back Josh Jacobs has been a revelation too with 1,147 yards and 12 rushing TDs.
Pair the QB-RB duo with wideout Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs, and add TE Tucker Kraft to the mix and you have a fine offensive line for the Packers that averages 27.1 points per game!
The Saints, on the other hand, have had issues with inconsistencies and would love to finish their remaining schedule on a high. After tonight’s game, they will face the Raiders in week 17 and Tampa Bay in week 18, which could be a playoff decider for Baker Mayfield and co.
No Derek Carr, no Alvin Kamara, no Chris Olave and no Taysom Hill; it could be a long night for the Saints!
Week 16 Monday Night Football tonight between the Green Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints will kick-off at 8:15 p.m. ET from the Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Viewers can watch week 16 Monday Night Football tonight on ESPN and ABC.
For Monday Night Football Live Streaming: ESPN+ and Fubo.
Week 17 Monday Night Football game will be played between the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions. For week 18, the last game will be Sunday Night Football. Hence, no MNF game for week 18 as always.
Even if the Packers win out all their remaining games, they have almost negligible chances of becoming the top seeds in the NFC. Hence, the Packers will do what they do best and try to keep the winning momentum going.
