Having turned pro in 2018, Jannik Sinner has ascended the ATP throne in under a decade. The Italian sensation had his coming of age in 2024 – he beat Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev en route to a maiden Australian Open crown. Since then, he went on to add a US Open title to his trophy cabinet, before retaining the championship at Melbourne Park this year.

In mid 2025, Sinner lost a heartbreaking Roland Garros final to fellow prodigy Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard saved three championship points en route to a grand success in 5 hours and 29 minutes. At Wimbledon 2025, the World No. 1 will be searching for sweet revenge. Can he win his maiden trophy at All England Club in Sinner v Alcaraz Chapter-13 on Sunday?

Behind Sinner’s magnificent rise to the top, is a diligent team of coaches and staff who work tirelessly on a daily basis. “I would describe my team as nice, happy people,” the now 23-year-old told the ATP Tour in early 2024. “I feel good with them and lucky to have them. Who is Jannik Sinner’s Coach?

Jannik Sinner has two primary coaches – Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill. Vagnozzi is an Italian coach who has been working with Sinner since February 2022. A former tennis player himself, Vagnozzi retired in 2015. He has known Sinner since the age of 14, and trains with him on a day-to-day basis. According to fellow coach Cahill, Vagnozzi is “the one that’s really steering the ship.”

Meanwhile, Cahill is an Australian former professional player turned coach. A former US Open semifinalist, the 59-year-old is one of the most decorated names in the tennis coaching fraternity. His partnership with the now three-time Grand Slam champion started in mid-2022. Cahill has also worked with the likes of Andre Agassi, Lleyton Hewitt and Simona Halep in the past.

Up until August 2024, Jannik Sinner was working with physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi and fitness trainer Umberto Ferrara. However, their alliance split after an investigation into a doping allegation last year. Naldi had reportedly been applying a spray that was given to him by Ferrara, in order to treat a cut. While massaging Sinner, the contaminated substance entered the system of the Italian.

A month later, Sinner employed Ulises Badio and Marco Panichi to join his setup and fill the vacancies. They oversaw Sinner’s title retention charge at the Australian Open, before treating him during his run to the French Open summit clash after a three month suspension. A couple of days before the 2025 Wimbledon Championships however, the duo parted ways with the top seed.

Osteopath Andrea Cipolla, who is still a part of Jannik Sinner’s back-end team, has reportedly travelled with them to London.
