The University of Florida sophomore Thomas Haugh will take on the court on April 5, 2025, as the Florida Gators clash against the Auburn Tigers in the Final Four Round of March Madness 2025. The Gators will rely heavily on stars like Thomas Haugh, who is coming on the back of a solid performance in the Elite Eight against Texas Tech. He scored 20 points, 11 rebounds and two assists to help the side make their sixth appearance.
Haugh is a forward, playing as a sophomore in the ongoing season. Born and brought up in New Oxford, Pennsylvania, Haugh went to the Perkiomen School and had a memorable stint with them. He helped the side clinch a 2023 state championship, and was named first-team all-state with an average of 24 points and 10 rebounds.
In his university basketball journey, Haugh averaged 3.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game in his freshman season with the Gators. His performance improved significantly in the sophomore season and averaged 9.8 points, 6.1 points and 2.2 assists per game.
Haugh’s first love was not basketball. He played multiple sports including juggling football and volleyball in middle school. In simple words, he was a special kid, and, it came naturally to him, with inheritance, considering he was born in a family of athletes. Thomas Haugh is the son of Jennifer and Ryan Haugh, who were athletes back in their college days. Thomas has two siblings, both younger, Tanner and RyLee. This is not it. His grandfather, Mike Fuhrman was also a college football player who played at Memphis State, now University of Memphis. He also played in the NFL with the Baltimore Colts.

Thomas Haugh’s father is Ryan Haugh, a former college athlete at Shippensburg University. Thomas was a middle linebacker in football. However, following college, he went into the hospital business.
Thomas Haugh’s mother is Jennifer, who herself was an athlete in her college days. Jennifer was a middle hitter in volleyball at Shippensburg University. In fact, she met Ryan, her future husband on campus. After her college days, Jennifer went on to become an elementary school teacher.
Both Thomas’ parents, Ryan and Jennifer, are American nationals.
