UConn star Sarah Strong was the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2024, and can simply be labeled as no ordinary freshman. Leading the team in three categories, rebounds, steals and blocks this season, Strong started her basketball journey at Fuquay-Varina High School in North Carolina. She averaged 25 points and 19 rebounds per game in her freshman year.

Following the season, she moved to Grace Christian School in Sanford, where she helped the side win three consecutive NCISAA state titles. In her senior year, the 19-year-old was named North Carolina Miss Basketball in 2023 and 2024 and was selected to play in the 2024 McDonald’s All-American Girls Game. She was also adjudged the Naismith High School Player of the Year in 2024, and became the first North Carolinian to receive the honors.

She began her college basketball journey in November 2024, and was awarded Big East Freshman of the Year. The Madrid-born, who scored 17 points with four rebounds and three assists in her debut game against Boston University, was named to the All-Big East First Team as well as the Big East All-Freshman Team.

Averaging 16.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.3 steals, Strong is the second-highest scorer for the side, trailing only behind Paige Bueckers. Strong got athletic spirit in inheritance, considering her parents have been basketball icons.

Allison Feaster is the mother of Sarah Strong. Feaster is a former basketball player who played for Harvard and later in the WNBA for the Indiana Fever, Charlotte Sting, and Los Angeles Sparks from 1998-2008. After announcing her retirement, she joined forces with the Boston Celtics in their front office as the Vice President of Team Operations and Organizational Growth.

Feaster is a celebrated former sportsperson, who created a record by being the first athlete in any sport to earn Ivy League Player of the Year honors thrice. Not only this, but she also played a key role in guiding her team to a victory during the 1998 NCAA Tournament.

Danny Strong is the father of Sarah Strong, who is a former basketball player. Danny Strong earned first-team JUCO All-America honors and then to NC State with Spartanburg Methodist College. Not only this, but he also played in European Basketball leagues and led his team to a victory in the 2005 French Cup Championship. He put an end to his 15-year-long career by announcing retirement in May 2012.
