Blake Snell vs. Tarik Skubal!

After a dominant showing in the MLB World Tour 2025: Tokyo Series, where they swept the Chicago Cubs, Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers are back on home turf for their official MLB Opening Day. Fresh off a World Series-winning season, the Dodgers enter the new campaign as favorites to defend their title.

Their Opening Day opponent, the Detroit Tigers, took two out of three games from the Dodgers last season in a tightly contested July series. Detroit edged out L.A. in scoring, 18-16, across those matchups. Now, the Tigers face a historic challenge – this will be the first time in franchise history they begin a season against the reigning World Series champions.

Where to Watch Dodgers vs. Tigers

The Dodgers begin their three-game home series against the Tigers on Thursday. Here’s the full schedule:

  • Thursday, 7:10 p.m. ET (Blake Snell vs. Tarik Skubal) – ESPN | Watch on Fubo (Regional restrictions may apply)
  • Friday, 10:10 p.m. ET (Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs. TBD) – SportsNet LA, FDSDET | Watch on Fubo
  • Saturday, 9:10 p.m. ET (Roki Sasaki vs. TBD) – SportsNet LA, FDSDET | Watch on Fubo

This Opening Day showdown features a marquee pitching matchup between last year’s AL Cy Young winner, Tarik Skubal, and two-time Cy Young recipient Blake Snell, who is making his Dodgers debut after signing a blockbuster five-year, $182 million contract in the offseason.

Tigers Injuries Report

While the Dodgers enter 2025 with more answers than uncertainties, one major question mark remains, Mookie Betts. The star infielder’s illness status has kept him out of action until very recently, and his availability for the home opener is still uncertain. His presence could be a key factor in starting the season strong.
