The new era of NBA basketball involves every team and player knowing how to shoot the three ball. Gone are the days when the power forwards and the centers could only post up and defend the paint. There is one single man responsible for the revolution of the three point shot and if it isn’t obvious already, it’s Stephen Curry. He is as Stephen A. Smith likes to point out “the greatest shooter God have ever created,” and rightfully so.
When Chef Curry starts cooking, the opposing defenses get so demotivated that they start losing their will to continue playing. After all the man had 402 three pointers in the 2015-2016 regular season, something which had never been done before.
Even though Klay Thompson is not playing with his “Splash Bro,” (Steph Curry) anymore, that doesn’t take away from the fact that he is arguably the second greatest shooter of all time. The two are widely accepted to be the greatest shooting backcourt in the history of the NBA and Klay, in his prime, was one of the most devastating players in the league.
The man barely took two dribbles but would go on to drop at least 20-30 points each game, and when he was on, there was nothing that anybody could do to slow him down. He once had 60 points in 3 quarters, on 11 dribbles. Who does that!
So today we’ll be look at the three point record set in a single game. Without further ado, let’s get right into it.

When we’re talking about the regular season record, Klay Thompson has the most 3s in a single game with 14 three pointers. Prior to the game against the Chicago Bulls in the 2018 regular season, Thompson was surprising going through a shooting slump and many wondered what was actually going on with him.
However, he shut down all the critics immediately as he went off for 14 three pointers against the Bulls and there was no stopping him that night. He finished the night with 52 points and what we witnessed that night is something that we have still not seen till this day.
It must be one heck of a feeling to be that hot shooting the ball, but nobody in the history of the NBA has been hotter than Steph Curry, who also has the most three pointers made ever in NBA history with 4000 plus threes in his career, and he’s still going strong. By the time he’s done with the NBA, he could be at the 5000 mark and that record will perhaps not be broken anytime soon.
While regular season accomplishments are great, there is nothing better than to get hot when it matters the most and Damian Lillard has previously displayed what “Dame time,” is all about in the playoffs. In a game against the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs, Lillard had one of the best games anyone has ever had in the playoffs and we were quite frankly speechless with his performance. Lillard knocked down 12 three pointers that night and ended the game with 55 points!

Even though the Trail Blazers ended up losing the game, that was a game that we will never forget and here are some of the reactions from the NBA players on his performance that night.
Lillard is one of the clutchest players we’ve ever seen in the history of the NBA and we think that he is still one of the more heavily under appreciated players in the NBA today. His game winning shots against the Houston Rockets, and the Oklahoma City Thunder, is still one of the best plays in NBA playoffs history.

Lillard is one of the game’s best point guards and if he played for a bigger market team during his prime, he probably could have won multiple championships by now but his commitment to the Trail Blazers, at that time, took away some of that shine that he could have had elsewhere.
