Amorim Reflects on Manchester United’s Struggles in a Thrilling but Disappointing Premier League Clash
Manchester United suffered their 16th defeat of the season as Brentford pit four past them on Sunday. Despite the late efforts from Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo, it ended in a 4-3 in favour of the Bees at home.
Kevin Schade scored a brace with goals in each half of the game. The German youngster has shined this season with 10 goals in the Premier League. Brentford striker Yoane Wissa scored the fourth goal to seal their ninth home victory of the season.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim seemed to be frustrated with the result as he expressed disappointment in his post-game interview. Reflecting on the game, the Portuguese compared it to their season insisting things need to change.
Talking about how things have lacked intensity at Manchester United and what needs to change, Amorim said:
“It was a reflection of our season,” Amorim said after the loss, United’s 16th of the league campaign.
“We started well and controlled well, we suffered with the set pieces and throw-ins so we knew we would struggle against them.
“They (players) have to understand we cannot do this anymore, we know the context of the season and we need to change that.”
Manchester United currently stand 15th on the table after their defeat to Brentford on Sunday. Managing only four away victories this season, points have been scarce on the road for Amorim’s side.
Brentford has had a shining season compared to their 39-point finish in the Premier League 2023/24. Currently eighth on the table, the Bees have managed 52 points in 35 match weeks. Thomas Frank and his team have also collected nine points from their previous three games.
Manchester United will try to shift their focus on the Europa League semifinal at Old Trafford next week. After the 3-0 away win in Bilbao, Amorim and his side will hold the fate of the finals in their hands. However, as things stand, the struggle for the Red Devils in the English League continues.
