WATCH: Draymond Green Drops ‘Night Night’ Celebration After Sealing Warriors’ Win Over Knicks

Draymond Green pulled off teammate Stephen Curry’s signature ‘Night-Night’ celebration after helping the Golden State Warriors secure a crucial lead in crunch time against the New York Knicks. Green scored a clutch layup with 25.8 seconds to go to extend the Warriors’ lead to six points. Warriors went on to win 97-94 at Chase Center.

Notably, this was their seventh straight win and head coach Steve Kerr’s 558th career win. With this, he surpassed Al Attles for the most wins in Warriors’ franchise history.

It was a close-contested game right from the beginning, where both teams engaged in a neck-to-neck competition. The Warriors managed to lead the first half with 54-50, while the Knicks got past their counterparts 22-21 in the third quarter.

In the final three minutes, both teams were tied at 88-88, when Moses Moody’s play took the tally to 90-88. The lead was soon extended to 92-88, owing to two free throws. Draymond Green drove in the final 25 seconds and finished at the rim to take the tally to 94-88. As the crowd at the Chase Center erupted in cheers, Green came up with the iconic ‘Night-Night’ celebration.

This was the Warriors’ second win over the Knicks in eleven days. In their previous meeting on March 4, Stephen Curry’s 28 points led the Warriors to a 114-102 win at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

“That’s a Very Good Team” – Draymond Green Heaps Praise on New York Knicks

Green finished the night with nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Following the game, he heaped praise on Knicks who were without their star Jalen Brunson.

Green told ESPN, “That’s a very good team even without Jalen Brunson. That’s a great ball club. They played hard. Karl had a great game. They followed the charge. OG played great, Miles played a great town. They took us to the rim and we were able to make the plays down the stretch.“

The Warriors are now 14-1 with Jimmy Butler in their lineup. The former Miami Heat star finished the night with 11 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Speaking about having Butler’s impact, Green said, “It’s a real ball club now you know with him on this team. Whether he has 11 points or 30, he makes us a real ball club and when we’re a real ball club, we usually win championships.”

Stephen Curry once again led the charge for the Warriors with 28 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

In their next game, they will be up against the Denver Nuggets on Monday, March 17.
