Draymond Green Calls Stephen A. Smith ‘Weak’ for Confronting LeBron James over Bronny

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green didn’t hold back on Stephen A. Smith’s response to LeBron James. The four-time NBA champion was unhappy with Smith’s attack on LeBron as a father. He believes the ESPN analyst went too far with his critical comments about LeBron and his son Bronny.

“I thought it was weak, I thought it was some bulls. But in the moment, I knew that I was listening to a father,” Smith said during an appearance on the “Gil’s Arena” podcast.

Stephen A. Smith and LeBron James got involved in a heated argument during the third quarter of the Lakers’ victory over the New York Knicks. The 40-year-old guard was not satisfied with Smith’s comments about his son. According to Smith, “He (LeBron) said, ‘Yo, you gotta stop talking s— about my son. You gotta stop f—ing with my son – that’s my son. That’s my son.”

“Calling another man weak? That’s just … Not basketball. Which is actually what ‘Bron was saying in the first place. Like, let’s keep it basketball because calling a man weak, that’s not basketball. And you’re paid to talk about basketball. You call ‘Bron weak for stepping to you, but you’re taking shots at him as a father on TV. Behind a camera. Most would say that’s weak.”

“That’s what we call weak. Where I’m from? The guys that I was raised by? The men that had an impact on my life? That’s what we call weak,” the Warriors forward concluded.

Draymond Green was in action for the Warriors’ matchup against the Knicks, and the Golden State won their sixth straight game. The veteran star hit Steph Curry’s signature celebration after a game-winning basket. He tallied nine points, four rebounds and three assists in 32-minmute stay.
