Wales Set for World Cup Qualifiers Against Kazakhstan and North Macedonia As They Aim To Secure a Spot in World Cup 2026.

Wales are done with their Nations League matches and this March, they will face Kazakhstan and North Macedonia for their World Cup qualifiers matches. They will be playing several qualifying matches to secure a spot in the World Cup next year.

Wales showed a decent performance in the UEFA Nations League, winning three and drawing three of their group-stage games with no losses registered. In a group with Turkey, Iceland, and Montenegro, Wales ended the group stage at the top of their group table.

Now in Group J with Belgium, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, and North Macedonia, they have a good chance of progressing if they can keep up their form. Taking the injuries and key players into account, Wales will look to start their World Cup qualifying campaign with a win.

Coach Craig Bellamy had to name his 26-man squad without the key player Aaron Ramsey. The 34-year-old had to withdraw because of a hamstring injury. He sustained the injury during Cardiff City’s recent loss to Luton Town in the Championship. Ramsey returned from a long injury layoff recently and was expecting to play a key role in Wales’ campaign.

Wales will also miss Ethan Ampadu and Harry Wilson who are still recovering from injuries. Even with these setbacks, the coach decided to rely and call up 18-year-old Kai Andrews to make his first senior international appearance.

Tottenham duo Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson have been included in the squad. Davies, who currently has 92 caps to his name, is on track to become only the fourth Wales player to reach 100 games for the country.

Eventually, I realized I could combine my passion for writing with my love for football, and I’ve never looked back. My favorite part of the job is everything—when you’re doing what you love, even a late-night deadline feels like extra time in a thrilling cup final. Lastly, Lionel Messi is the GOAT.
