VJ Edgecombe Jr., a former Baylor Bears guard, is set to step into the world of NBA and begin his journey as a professional basketball player. Born and brought up in Bimini, the Bahamas, Edgecombe began his basketball journey at Long Island Lutheran High School and participated in the Bahamian National Team’s FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament. The 19-year-old guided the Crusaders to the No. 2 ranking in the ESPN High School Basketball rankings during his senior year.

He also led the team to the Chipotle National Finals, which were earlier known as the GEICO National Tournaments. Edgecombe was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for two straight seasons and participated in the McDonald’s All-American Game. He was a consensus five-star recruit and a top player in the 2024 class. For his college, he received offers from Duke and Kentucky but eventually committed to Baylor.
