Strengths

For a young guard, VJ Edgecombe shows a rare commitment to defense, often leading Baylor’s perimeter pressure with consistency. With an average of 2.1 steals per game in the NCAA, Edgecombe was the go-to guy in the Baylor camp to disrupt opposing offenses.

The 18-year-old’s playmaking and court vision is a deadly combination with bursting athleticism. Averaging 3.2 assists and keeping turnovers low (1.9), Edgecombe has proven to be a smart, low-risk playmaker who rarely puts his team in trouble with poor decisions.

Weaknesses

VJ Edgecombe’s shooting ability remains a concern going into the NBA Draft. His three pointer average stands at just 34% which is quite low for a guard soon to play in the NBA.
