The Minnesota Vikings are bringing back their former star wide receiver, Adam Thielen, according to Ian Rapoport.

Reunion: The #Vikings are trading for their own former star WR Adam Thielen, per me and @TomPelissero, as Thielen heads back to MIN after a quick stint in Carolina.

Adam Thielen is leaving the Panthers in a trade with his former team. Here’s the breakdown:

Carolina receives: a 2026 5th-round pick and a 2027 4th-round pick
Minnesota receives: Adam Thielen, a conditional 2026 7th-round pick, and a 2027 5th-round pick.

Undrafted in 2013 and signed by the Minnesota Vikings, Thielen patiently climbed the ranks to become one of the most reliable receivers in the league.

A true model of consistency, he posted back-to-back 1,200+ yard seasons in 2017 and 2018, earning a reputation as a precise route runner and a trusted third-down target. After nine NFL seasons highlighted by two Pro Bowl selections and a strong connection with Kirk Cousins, he continued his career with the Carolina Panthers.

In his first season in 2023 with his new team, Thielen led the Panthers’ passing game with 103 receptions, 1,014 yards, and 6 touchdowns while playing all 17 games.

Last season, however, Thielen played only 10 games, finishing with 615 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 48 receptions.
