The stars are aligning differently for the Dallas based franchises, with superstars leaving the city one after the other. The Dallas sports scene received its initial jolt when, unexpectedly, Nico Harrison decided to trade away Luka Doncic from the team.

A star who was expected to guide the franchise and the city’s NBA fans toward a fresh era, suddenly departed by the month of February. Now the NFL fans in Dallas are experiencing a similar feeling. The Cowboys star Micah Parsons has been traded to the Green Bay Packers.

However, this arrives as less of a surprise since the pass rusher had already been advocating for a trade from the team. He also made public remarks about his desire to leave the Dallas Cowboys. Something that Doncic never did with the Mavericks.

Both cases are different from one another, but what remains constant is that the Dallas city has lost two biggest sporting icons within a span of months. The positive aspect in this situation is that the Dallas fans have now acquired two promising future icons: Paige Bueckers and Cooper Flagg.

Green Bay Packers Make Big Deal

The Green Bay Packers made a major move by signing Micah Parsons to a four-year contract valued at $188 million. Of that amount, $120 million are guaranteed, positioning him as the highest paid non-quarterback in the entire history of the league.

The Defensive menace wanted a big contract extension from the Cowboys, bigger than any defensive player had received. Negotiations turned tense, especially when owner Jerry Jones tried to bypass Parsons’ agent and deal directly with the player.

The former Defensive Player of the Year subsequently demanded a trade from the organization at that point. The Cowboys at first opposed the idea, but they chose to proceed with trading him once the Packers presented a package that could fulfill several team requirements.

In exchange, Dallas received two future first-round draft picks – one for 2026, and another for 2027 in the deal. They additionally acquired Kenny Clark, who stands as a three-time Pro Bowler renowned for his interior pass rushing and ability to stop the run.
