US Open 2025 Men’s Round of 16 Schedule – All You Need to Know

Eight spots up for grabs in the next round at Flushing Meadows.

After an intense opening week filled with shocking results and spine-tingling drama, the last 16 on the men’s side of the draw have been determined. While top two seeds Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz remain on course for yet another thrilling summit clash in New York, outer favourites such as Novak Djokovic and Taylor Fritz continue to hunt down the competition. The Round of 16 will be played on Sunday and Monday, with eight spots in the next round up for grabs.

With the No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev finding the exit door on Saturday night, the path opens up for someone else to make a deep run. Felix Auger-Aliassime remains a prime contender after his scintillating performance, but do not look beyond Andrey Rublev and Alex de Minaur too. Subsequently, British southpaw Jack Draper’s withdrawal also opened up the draw.

When Will Top Seeds Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz Play?

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner defeated Denis Shapovalov in a humdinger of a Third Round battle on Saturday. After dropping the opening set, the Italian had to claw his way back into the encounter. He will play his Round of 16 match-up on Monday – 1 September. While the timing of his fixture is TBD, the top seed’s opponent will be a familiar foe in Alexander Bublik. The Kazakh powerhouse overcame home favourite Tommy Paul in five sets to reach this stage.

On the other hand, 2022 US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz takes to court on Sunday. He will face the unseeded Arthur Rinderknech in the second match of the day session on Arthur Ashe Stadium. The Spaniard leads the head-to-head against his French counterpart by 3-0 ahead of their contest on Sunday.

Bidding for his 25th Grand Slam trophy, Novak Djokovic has been given the night session on Arthur Ashe Stadium on Super Sunday. Fans can watch the No. 7 seed at 7:00 PM Local (12 Midnight BST) as he battles qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany for a spot in the last eight. The Serbian icon is undefeated across seven matches against Struff. A blockbuster encounter against Taylor Fritz or Tomas Machac awaits Djokovic in the last eight, provided he completes the task at hand.
