The UEFA Champions League 2024-25 quarter-final second leg matches are set to be played in less than a week. The four gripping fixtures will determine the semifinalists of this season. Some teams are carrying commanding leads from the first legs, while others still have a lot to do.

Barcelona, Arsenal, and PSG will be taking convincing advantages into their away fixtures next week. Whereas, Inter Milan hold a narrow but valuable edge after their impressive away win in Munich. Of all the ties, Barcelona and Arsenal appear most comfortable heading into the return legs. They are holding significant 3/4-goal leads with none conceded.

Inter took a big step towards the semi-finals with a 2-1 away win over Bayern Munich. Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring early. Although Thomas Muller equalized late, Davide Frattesi quickly restored Inter’s lead. Bayern, now facing elimination, need a strong performance in Milan to progress to the semis.

Arsenal dominated at the Emirates, thrashing Real Madrid 3-0. Declan Rice scored two stunning free-kicks which were his first direct free-kick goals in over 300 professional appearances. Mikel Merino added a third to seal the win. Madrid now have a mountain to climb. However, the return leg is at their home which can be considered a fort, so they can stay optimistic.

Barcelona produced a statement performance at Camp Nou in the first leg, routing Borussia Dortmund 4-0. Raphinha broke the deadlock, followed by a Robert Lewandowski brace and a late goal from teenage sensation Lamine Yamal. The Catalans are now on the verge of reaching their first UCL semi-final since 2019. And it doesn’t look too far.

Despite falling behind to a Morgan Rogers goal, PSG bounced back in style. Desire Doue equalized before halftime, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes adding two more to secure a win. PSG now carry a two-goal cushion to Villa Park, although manager Luis Enrique remains cautious.
