The 25-year-old made an appearance with a walking boot and crutches at the WWE SummerSlam.
Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton came up with a short and crisp response to the kind of welcome he received at the WWE SummerSlam. Haliburton attended the WWE event at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. However, the Pacers star didn’t receive the kind of welcome he had expected. He was met by heavy boos from the New York Knicks fans as the Pacers beat them in the Eastern Conference Finals this past season.
The 25-year-old made an appearance with a walking boot and crutches, which was because of the Achilles tear he suffered during Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He underwent surgery, and his presence in various events and games indicates at his significant improvement. Coming back to the event, Haliburton seemingly remained unfazed by the boos. He waved his arms in excitement and was caught saying, “I love you too!”
During the event, Haliburton had an interaction with former WWE champion John Cena. During his WWE title clash against Cody Rhodes, Cena mocked the NBA player with his signature “You can’t see me!” move. Not only this, but he also took one of his crutches. Later, Haliburton, the two-time NBA All-Star took to X to respond to it and said that Cena could have asked him nicely rather than mocking him.

Haliburton, on his X account, shared the WWE’s post and stated, “Smh all you had to do was ask, John Cena.” Coming back to Haliburton, he will be out of action for the next season due to the Achilles tear he suffered during Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Haliburton played a pivotal role in guiding the Pacers to their second-ever NBA Finals appearance.
He averaged 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game in the 2024-25 regular season. Not only this, but he also led his team in two categories- assists and steals. In the postseason, he averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 8.6 assists in 23 appearances.
