Tottenham Hotspur vs Eintracht Frankfurt Preview

The only route for Tottenham to qualify for next year’s UEFA Champions League competition is by winning the Europa League while Eintracht Frankfurt would be assured of a Champions League spot if they can manage to avoid too many negative results in the Bundesliga over the coming weeks. Either ways, lifting the coveted trophy in May would be a prime goal for both teams and the road to that would begin from London on Thursday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou has overseen a dismal domestic campaign as Spurs are currently in the 14th position with 37 points from 31 matches, while they were knocked out of the League Cup and the FA Cup in the semi-finals and the fourth round, respectively. Europe is where the Australian manager can salvage himself as he led Spurs to a fourth-placed finish in the league stage before overcoming a first-leg deficit against AZ Aikmaar in the Round of 16 but should prove his credentials against a dangerous Eintracht Frankfurt side.

Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, and Kevin Danso will be unavailable for the first leg due to their respective injuries while Rodrigo Bentacur might feature on Thursday evening in London after serving his suspension during the Round of 16 tie.

Predicted Starting XI: Vicario; Spence, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Bissouma; Johnson, Maddison, Son; Solanke

Eintracht Frankfurt

On the other hand, the 2021-22 UEFA Europa League champions have progressed well under Dino Toppmoller who has led the club to the third position in the Bundesliga with six matchdays to go. Frankfurt crashed out of the cup competition as well after losing to RB Leipzig and Europe’s second-tier competition remains their only hope for a trophy at the end of the current season.

First-choice goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, Ansgar Knauff, Timothy Chandler, and Elye Wahi won’t be travelling to North London for the first leg of the quarter-final while Can Uzun remains a doubt for the trip to England’s capital city.

Predicted Starting XI: Santos; Kristensen, Koch, Theate, Brown; Tuta, Skhiri; Gotze, Larsson, Bahoya; Ekitike

The Playoffs aim to facilitate the safest bets for the game. Have a look at the predictions for the game below.

Total goals Over 2.5 @ -182 (MGM Bet): With stars like skipper Son Heung Min, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, and Brennan Johnson threating the visitors’ goal which will guarded by second-choice goalkeeper Kaua Santos, one can expect a lot of goals to be scored by the hosts.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Eintracht Frankfurt Player Picks

Hugo Ekitike (To Score a Goal @ +210 as per MGM Bet): After a slow start in the Bundesliga last season, the former Paris St. Germain forward has lit up the Bundesliga this season, scoring 13 goals in the league and 19 goals across all competitions. The striker would be relishing coming up against a defense that has conceded 54 goals across the Premier League and the Europa League this season and always look prone to conceding goals.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction

With both sides not known for running a tight ship at the back, neutrals around the world can be in for a treat as we expect a plethora of goals to be scored by both sets of attackers in the first leg.

Our Final Prediction: A 3-3 draw between the sides is on the cards as both managers would be setting up their teams attack-first on Thursday evening in North London.
