Tottenham Hotspur vs. Eintracht Frankfurt – Predicted Lineups, Injury News, Live Streaming and More

Mayur Dedwal

Tottenham Hotspur and Frankfurt will play each other for the 3rd time in history.

Tottenham Hotspur in what’s been a season in the rough have a final hope as they stay alive in the Europa League. After beating AZ Alkmaar 3-1 on aggregate in the Round of 16, the North London club will host Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, April 11 for the first leg of the quarterfinals.

Manager Ange Postecoglou’s side after struggling in the Premier League will have Europa League as their only ticket to taking something positive. Frankfurt has had a great Bundesliga season although they still will tussle for a top-four spot with Mainz 05 and RB Leipzig.

Having a disappointing away record this season, Tottenham will need all of their attacking prowess to make the most out of the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Frankfurt by the fundamentals will be expected to have a conscious approach keeping the second leg in Germany in calculations.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Postecoglou confirmed most of his options will be available to play against Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg. Claiming the excitement before the fixture, the Australian addressed the team situation in the pre-match conference as:

“Everyone’s good from the weekend from a physical standpoint. It’s a good place to be for us, There haven’t been many occasions when that’s happened this year, so from that point of view, it’s good. We’re all excited. It’s a quarter-final of a European competition, a home game as well which adds to that excitement so looking forward to it.”

Tottenham Hotspur suffered some major injury blows since the start of the season. With most of his players back from injury, Postecoglou talked about having to rotate the squad as he added:

“I think we’ve been okay. Again, it’s been disruptive, trying to juggle getting players game time while also resting some players at different times so we can get to this position where we’ve got a fairly fit and strong squad to tackle what’s ahead.

Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin and Kevin Danso will be the absentees from Tottenham tonight. They will be expected to stick to their regular 4-3-3 shape as Heung Min-son and Brennan Johnson will take the front wings.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI: Vicario; Porro; Romero; van de Ven; Spence; Bergvall; Bentancur; Maddison; Johnson; Solanke; Son (C).

Eintracht Frankfurt Team News

Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller ruled out their right winger Ansgar Knauff from the first leg. Addressing his injury situation, Toppmöller said

“Unfortunately, Ansgar Knauff isn’t quite ready. We’ve got a few ideas about how to replace him. We’ll find a solution-oriented option and play in a system that’s well-suited to the opposition.”

Frankfurt will be expected to change the system from the 4-2-3-1 in the absence of Knauff. With depth in the attacking side, Mario Gotze has filled in on the right wing.
