Harry Kane’s Trophy Wait Continues: Bayern Munich Held by RB Leipzig in Bundesliga Title Race

Bayern Munich was minutes away from clinching the Bundesliga 2024/25 title before RB Leipzig equalised in the dying moments. As the game commenced 3-3, the German giants will have to wait till next week to confirm their 34th Bundesliga title.

Harry Kane who arrived at Bayern Munich in 2023 was seen keen to celebrate their victory. Kane, despite being injured, was all set to celebrate his first-ever trophy on the pitch. But unfortunately, Leipzig scored an equalizer in the final seconds, leaving him with a bit of a sour taste.

RB Leipzig secured a crucial point in Munich as they are in the fifth spot with 50 points. Bayern Munich who leads the league by 10 points with one game more played, will have to wait till their contest against Bayern M’gladbach next week.

Kane who is the top-scorer in the Bundesliga (24 goals) is yet to win his first-ever ever major-trophy with a club. After the full-time whistle, Bayern Munich veteran Thomas Muller was also seen cheering the fans and Kane reminding them it would come sooner or later.

Being seconds away from his first-ever major trophy, Kane’s impatient reaction seems justified. Bayern Munich after their exit in the final eight from the Champions League hasn’t lost since. With one win to go for the Bundesliga title, the English striker is destined to lift his first trophy sooner or later.

Looking at the silver side, some Bayern Munich called the draw favouring them as they home to clinch the title at home next week. Kane who has had an important role to play, has started 27 games for Vincent Kompany in the Bundesliga this season.

Kane is on course to become Bayern Munich’s highest goal scorer for the second consecutive season. Scoring over 60 goals over two seasons, the 31-year-old will be keen to get back on the pitch as two matches remain.

Bayern Munich will host M’gladbach on Saturday, May 10. The Reds have lost only one of their past five games to M’gladbach. With a stellar record against the club, Kompany’s side will be predicted to clinch the Bundesliga title at home next week.
