The New York Jets give permission to WR Allen Lazard to seek a trade!

Eric Divakaran

The New York Jets are determined to make a lot of changes to their roster after having yet another disappointing year last season. They started by getting rid of Aaron Rodgers this off season which was a big news. When we learned that the Jets were moving on from Rodgers, we knew that there would be others that would soon follow. In order for the Jets to start winning again, they knew that they needed to make changes and that is what we’re witnessing now.

After waiving Rodgers, the Jets soon followed with releasing Davante Adams from the team to free up cap space and now it’s Allen Lazard’s turn. Even though the Jets claim that they are open to bringing him back to the team, we believe that there’s more to their story than what meets the eye. Let us find out more.

The Jets are open to bringing Lazard back to the team

Even though the Jets claim that they are open to bringing Lazard back to the team, we believe that it won’t happen. This is mainly because in the last two seasons in 2023 and 2024, Lazard led the league in drop rate with 17.9 percent in 2023 and 17.8 percent in 2024.

If the Jets are trying to make changes to get better, it would not make much sense for them to resign a player who hasn’t been able to produce at the rate the Jets would like.

Which teams might be interested in acquiring Lazard?

Lazard has been following QB Aaron Rodgers wherever he goes and he could be reunited him playing for the Giants this time. After a failed attempt to get QB Matthew Stafford, there are reports that the Giants are interested in acquiring Rodgers and we all know how Rodgers likes to bring his former team, Green Bay Packers’, teammates along with him where ever he goes.

Some other teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and or the Patriots could also use his services as the market for quality receivers are thin. Even though Lazard may not be the best wideout you can have, he can still give you an okay amount of production at times. Last season, Lazard played in 12 games and recorded 530 receiving yards, 37 receptions, and 6 receiving touchdowns.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
