The Milwaukee Bucks Have Clenched a Playoff Spot for the Ninth Consecutive Season

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Miami Heat by which they have clenched a playoff spot for the ninth-straight season. The Bucks have been struggling a lot this season, but Giannis Antetokounmpo has done his best to keep the Bucks in the playoff picture. He finished the game with a triple-double and scored 36 points, grabbed 15 boards, and dished out 10 assists, on 62% shooting from the field, to defeat the Heat on overtime. Kevin Porter Jr., who was acquired from the L.A. Clippers for MarJon Beauchamp, found his rhythm in this game and contributed 24 points on 8-16 shooting from the field. The Bucks have now, once again, taken back the 5th seed in the East and if the season were to finish today, they would play the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the postseason.

Bucks Secure Ninth Straight Playoff Berth

The Bucks are going to the playoffs for the ninth straight time, but since their championship season in 2021, the Bucks have not made it past the second round of the playoffs. In 2021-2022 season, the Bucks were eliminated by the Boston Celtics in 7 games after the second round. It was a hard fought battle but the Bucks were missing their second option in Khris Middleton, and that ultimately cost them series.

In the 2022-2023 season, the Bucks were the number one seed in the East, but they were immediately bounced out of the first round of the playoffs. It was some of the biggest upsets we’ve seen in recent history, and this created lingering questions about the Bucks’ championship aspirations.

Last season in 2023-2024, the Bucks had successfully captured the 3rd-seed in the East. However, Giannis never played in the playoffs last season as he was dealing with injuries. With players in and out of the lineup, the Indiana Pacers successfully knocked the Bucks out of the playoffs after the first round in six games.

This season, in 2024-2025, the Bucks have mightily struggled to win games and it is mainly because of their defense. They are currently the 5th seed in the East, and even though they have officially clenched a playoff spot, we wonder if the Bucks will make it out of the second round this season. With Damian Lillard currently out of the lineup with an injury, and Bobby Portis still out with a suspension, their championship hopes are still a question moving forward.
