Marc-Andrè Ter Stegen Will Return To Football After Being Sidelined For Seven Months.
FC Barcelona has received a huge injury boost ahead of their Copa Del Rey Finals against Real Madrid. Their first-choice goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen has returned to training after being sidelined after missing seven months of football.
Recovering from a tendon rupture, Ter Stegen posted pictures of his Sunday training session with the squad. Captioning the post as “The Captain Is Back”, FC Barcelona announced the return of the German keeper.

Searching for their first Copa del Rey title since 2021, Barcelona have a gunner glimmer of positivity in the squad news ahead of the big stages. Following the ruling out of Robert Lewandowski earlier this week due to injury, Hansi Flick will also have to switch things up upfront.
Missing over 40 games this season, Ter Stegen will return to football in April. Arriving in October 2024, Wojciech Szczęsny replaced Ter Stegen in the Barcelona lineup. The Polish goalkeeper has lived up to everyone’s expectations keeping nine clean sheets in La Liga and UCL.
Flick will be in for a decision to make about his starting goalkeeper in the Copa del Rey finals. With the return of Ter Stegen and Szczesny’s role over the year, ruling either of the keepers out would be tough.
It’ll be interesting to see if the mananger puts Ter Stegen straight to action at the biggest stages or stick to their recruitment in Szczesny. The Polish keeper started in goal for both the legs against Atletico Madrid in the semifinal’s as well.
Real Madrid who suffered a major injury blow on Monday will come in as the underdogs in the competition. Given the form and squad strengths, FC Barcelona are expected to dominate the Spanish Cup Finals in 2025. However, every soccer fan would know that ruling Real Madrid out of any contest would be getting over our heads.
