Tennis Legends Maria Sharapova, and Bryan Brothers Inducted into Hall of Fame

Tennis legends Maria Sharapova and Bryan Brothers took their place among tennis legends with their induction into the Hall of Fame on Saturday night. The event was conduct on the evening of the US Open 2025. The Season’s final Grand Slam tournament officially kicks off on Sunday. Maria Sharapova and Bryan Brothers created a legacy in their tennis career and this remarkable glory was celebrated in an event.

Serena Williams Introduces Sharapova at Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, made an appearance at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and introduced her former rival, Maria Sharapova for her induction on Saturday night. Williams will also be eligible for her own enshrinement two years later.

“There are only a few players in my career who challenged me to be the very best, every single time we stepped out on the court,” Williams said. “Maria Sharapova was one of them. Whenever I saw her name next to mine in the draw, I made sure I practiced harder.”

Maria Sharapova is one of 10 women to complete the career Grand Slam. She is also the first Russian woman ever to reach No. 1 in the WTA rankings. The legendary player also claimed a silver medal in singles at the 2012 London Olympics, losing to Williams in the final. She retired in 2020 at the age of 32 and during a 15-year career, she won 5 Grand Slam titles.

“It’s a gift to have someone who motivates you to reach those heights. And I’ll forever be grateful for bringing out the best in me,” Sharapova said in her acceptance speech. “We both knew no other way than to fight our hearts out. … We both hated to lose more than anything on this earth, and we both knew that the other was the biggest obstacle between ourselves and the trophy.”

Sharapova joined the Class of 2025 with a doubles team Mike and Bob Bryan. The twin brothers won a record 16 Grand Slam titles in men’s doubles together. The famous doubles pair spent 438 weeks as the No. 1 in the Rankings. They also guided the US to the 2007 Davis Cup title and won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics. Bryan brother had a beautiful speech and wrapped up it with one of their trademark chest bumps.

Hall of Famers Martina Navratilova, Jim Courier, Stan Smith and Andy Roddick were also sitting in the crowd with their blue Hall of Fame blazers. Sharapova and the Bryan brothers also received a cast tennis racket which is the latest addition to the Hall of Fame.
