The win moves the Volunteers to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Kalen DeBoer’s first season as Alabama head coach takes another hit as Crimson Tide fall to Tennessee in a dramatic SEC clash on Saturday. Tennessee closed out the game with the final 10 points, defeating Alabama 24-17. The win moves the Volunteers to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play, keeping their hopes alive in the race for College Football Playoff.
Alabama drops to 5-2 and 2-2 in the SEC after a loss to Tennessee, marking their first losses to both Tennessee and Vanderbilt in a single season since 1984. Bad offense and quarterback play led to a disappointing loss for the Crimson Tides. QB Jalen Monroe and 17-year-old wide receiver Ryan Williams’s combination didn’t yield a positive result for the Tides.

Alabama now faces a tough road ahead, needing to run the table to stay in contention for the SEC Championship. Under Kalen DeBoer, the Crimson Tide has yet to find the same consistency they enjoyed during Nick Saban’s era. The Crimson Tide will next host Missouri at 2:30 p.m. on October 26.
Tennessee, on the other hand, continues to look like a serious threat in the SEC. They will next face Kentucky Wildcats on Nov. 2 at Neyland Stadium.
