Top seed Fritz begins DC campaign against underdog Vukic.
Top seed Taylor Fritz is set to face Aleksandar Vukic in the second round of the 2025 Citi DC Open. Fritz received a bye, while Vukic advanced after outlasting Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in three sets. The American has been in strong form this season, claiming titles in Stuttgart (defeating Alexander Zverev) and Eastbourne (over Jenson Brooksby), both in straight sets. Most recently, he made a semifinal run at Wimbledon, falling to Carlos Alcaraz in four sets.
Fritz also reached the semis in Miami and the quarterfinals in Delray Beach and Geneva. Now ranked world No. 4, he’s fired 485 aces, winning 80% of first-serve points and 27% on first-serve returns, while converting 45% of 249 break-point opportunities.

The Aussie has hit 208 aces so far, winning 73% of first-serve points, 27% on first-serve returns, and converting 35% of 137 break-point opportunities.
