NFL Super Bowl LX Matchup Odds – a Look at the Most Likely Super Bowl LX Matchups Ahead of the Conference Championships

Devavrat Kulkarni

The Patriots vs Seahawks Super Bowl matchup is the most likely outcome as per current odds!

With the NFL Conference Championships just around the corner, the Super Bowl is not too far away. In fact, we are just a little over 2 weeks away from the big game. But, before that, the four teams still in contention for the Lombardi Trophy have one more game to play.

From the AFC side of the playoff bracket, the one-seed, the Denver Broncos, host the two-seed, the New England Patriots. The Broncos are coming into the game following a tough win over the Bills in the Divisional round, whereas the Patriots made easy work of the Texans in their matchup.

Looking at the NFC bracket, the one seed, the Seattle Seahawks, is hosting the five seed, the Los Angeles Rams. Seattle makes its way into the Conference Championships after a demolition job of the 49ers, while the Rams overcame the Bears in overtime on a frigid day of play.

Super Bowl LX Matchup Odds

Ahead of the Conference Championship games, let us now take a brief look at the odds for the upcoming Super Bowl, as per FanDuel.

New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks+145
New England Patriots vs Los Angeles Rams+195
Denver Broncos vs Seattle Seahawks+400
Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Rams+500

New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks (+145)

To start things off, FanDuel has the New England Patriots taking on the Seattle Seahawks as the most likely Super Bowl LX matchup with (+145) odds. This matchup seems to be the most likely, although it is not a given by any means.

New England is the favorite to reach yet another Super Bowl from the AFC due to a couple of factors, which we will discuss in detail further below. As for the NFC, the game between the Seahawks and the Rams is basically a toss-up that can go either way. Still, the Seahawks have the edge with home-field advantage also being a crucial element.

New England Patriots vs Los Angeles Rams (+195)

Coming in at second is the Patriots vs Rams matchup with (+195) odds. This outcome is also quite plausible. As mentioned above, the Patriots are coming into their game against the Broncos with a clear edge.

On the other hand, the Rams and Seahawks are pretty evenly matched with two strong offenses going up against strong defenses. If the Seahawks have home-field advantage, the Rams have the league MVP-favorite Matthew Stafford.

Denver Broncos vs Seattle Seahawks (+400)

The Denver Broncos vs Seattle Seahawks matchup is third on the list with odds of (+400). The Broncos have one of the best defenses in the league this season, and even led the NFL with the most sacks by a team. The offense may sputter a bit, but if the Broncos’ defense can pressure Drake Maye and keep the score close, Denver will have a chance at winning the game.

On the other side, the Seahawks hold a slight edge over the Rams, as mentioned previously, and thus, this matchup makes sense at number three.

Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Rams (+500)

The Broncos against the Rams is the least likely Super Bowl LX matchup, as per the odds on FanDuel. Despite it being the least likely, there is every possibility that we may see these two teams in the final game of the season.

Both teams are well-coached, and while the Rams have one of the league’s best offenses, the Broncos have a top defense. Denver’s dominant pass rush and a strong secondary, limiting the opposition to just 6.1 yards per attempt and only 18 passing touchdowns on the season, could lead to pressure on Drake Maye and the Patriots’ offense.

Why the Patriots are favored over the Broncos in the AFC Championship game

The Patriots have an excellent chance of going back to the Championship game despite being on the road. The main reason the Patriots are favored in their matchup against the Broncos is due to Bo Nix missing the rest of the season due to an ankle injury.

Denver will start backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham in place of Nix, but the reality is that Stidham hasn’t played a single snap under center this season. Moreover, Denver’s offense, even with Nix in command, was mid-table in terms of scoring points in the regular season. In comparison, the Patriots ranked second in the league, putting up nearly 28.8 points per game.

Defensively, there is nothing that separates the two teams. Over the course of the regular season, the Broncos finished third in the league in scoring defense, allowing 18.3 points per game. New England finished right behind them, giving up only 18.8 points a game.

The Patriots, meanwhile, had 53 total touchdowns, whereas the Broncos finished the regular season with 43. Another area where New England leads is in turnover differential. The Patriots finished +3, and the Broncos finished -3.

Why is there little separating the Seahawks and the Rams in the NFC Championship game?

The Seahawks and the Rams are two of the strongest teams in the NFL this season. Although Seattle finished with the better overall record and took control of home-field advantage, Los Angeles is not too far behind.

Offensively, the Rams finished as league leaders, scoring 30.5 points per game, while the Seahawks finished third with 28.4 points per game. On defense, however, Seattle led the league in scoring defense, allowing just 17.2 points per game, but LA was a bit further down in tenth place, giving up 20.4 points.

Matthew Stafford and his receiving duo of Davante Adams and Puka Nacua has outshined Sam Darnold and his receivers, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp. The margin, however, with all things considered, is not that big.

The one thing that does stand out is the Rams ending the regular season with a +11 turnover differential, which is significantly better than the Seahawks’ -3. That being said, Seattle won the turnover battle 3-0 against the 49ers in the Divisional round on the way to a beatdown of sorts.

In the end, whichever two teams make it to the Super Bowl, one thing is for certain. There will be plenty of excitement as top offenses collide with top defenses for the chance at ultimate glory.

After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
