“Such a big loss” – Fans react as Victor Wembanyama is ruled out for the season due to deep vein thrombosis

Victor Wembanyama is ruled out for the remainder of the season with a deep vein thrombosis in right shoulder.

The San Antonio Spurs were on a hot and cold streak during the 2024-25 NBA season. The franchise traded for De’Aaron Fox to upgrade their backcourt and provide support for Victor Wembanyama.

However, Victor Wembanyama being ruled out for the rest of the season with a deep vein thrombosis in right shoulder. In simple terms, a “blood clot” has been formed in his right shoulder.

Multiple fantasy owners with money on the line have been quick with their reactions to the injury. Victor Wembanyama was a cheat code in fantasy with his 11 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 3.8 blocks per game, having multiple 50+ fantasy points performance in the last 10 games.

San Antonio Spurs’ fans were who hoping to see the duo of Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox were also left disappointed with the injury. The duo played five-games together and the team went 2-3. The franchise will struggle to make the play-in and will slowly fade out of the race with Wembanyama’s injury.

With backup center in Charles Bassey also suffering from a MCL sprain, Jeremy Sochan and Sandro Mamukelashvili will play most of their minutes as a center. Both 6’9″ power forward will have a hard time guarding the rim for Spurs without the presence of Wembanyama.
