Stefon Diggs Had Something to Prove Playing Against the Buffalo Bills

The New England Patriots managed to take down the Buffalo Bills in Week 5’s Sunday Night Football, after beating them with a 52-yard game-winning field goal by Andy Borregales. Patriots QB Drake Maye delivered a clutch performance, being there for the Pats when it mattered the most by securing a game-winning drive to beat Josh Allen and the Bills at their home.

The Bills had three turnovers in this game, ultimately costing them the game. Josh Allen threw for 253 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, while Maye went 22-30 from the field and had 273 passing yards with no turnovers, including a critical 12-yard pass to Stefon Diggs while under pressure from DaQuan Jones.

Stefon Diggs Was Not Going to Take It Easy Against His Former Team

Stefon Diggs had a great game going against his former team, the Buffalo Bills. He managed to get 146 receiving yards on 10 receptions, making sure to keep the Patriots’ drive on with crucial yardages.

After the game, when asked if the game against the Buffalo Bills was personal to him, he said, “A hundred percent. Obviously I love those guys, still got a good relationship with those guys, got a lotta respect for them. But I love the game of football more. Every time I go in, I gotta prove it, not only to them but to myself.”

Diggs played for the Bills from 2020 to 2023 and had some of his best season with them. However, in 2025 now with the Pats, Diggs has taken time to adjust to their offense, but the Bills game proves that he can explode at any given point in time, and is still one of the best wideouts in the game.
