According to Bayless, the referees were part of the agenda during Kansas City’s win against the Houston Texans. He highlighted specific calls, such as roughing the passer and unnecessary roughness penalties, that extended Chiefs’ drives. “So Mahomes, teetering though he might, must be propped up. Must be protected by the referees, just the way he was Saturday, at home against the Texans,” Bayless said.
