Lawrence was ruled out of the remainder of the game due to head injury.

Sunday Night Football turned fiery during the Jacksonville Jaguars’ clash with the Houston Texans when a controversial hit by Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair on Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence led to an on-field brawl. The incident, which occurred in the second quarter, left Lawrence seriously injured and the 25-year-old had to be carted off the field.

On a second-and-seven play, Lawrence scrambled to his left and began sprinting. As he slid to avoid contact near the first-down marker, Al-Shaair delivered a crushing hit that left Lawrence lying stiff on the field.

The hit immediately escalated into a full-blown melee. Jaguars tight end Evan Engram confronted Al-Shaair, leading to a huge brawl between both teams.

Officials later ejected Al-Shaair and Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones for the fallout.
