Shedeur Sanders’ Home Burglarized during NFL Debut against the Ravens – Stolen Items Amounting to $200,000!

Shedeur Sanders could make his starting debut against the Raiders on Sunday

Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens was bittersweet on multiple accounts for fifth-round rookie draft pick Shedeur Sanders. Not only did Sanders make his long-awaited debut under center for the Cleveland Browns in the second half of the game, but he got a taste of what a professional quarterback has to deal with on the field.

Little did Sanders know at the time, however, that while he was taking his first snaps in the NFL, his home in Cleveland was being burglarized around the same time.

Shedeur Sanders’ Home Burglary Details

ESPN’s NFL insider, Adam Schefter, posted on social media about Shedeur Sanders’ house being burglarized, with approximately $200,000 worth of property being stolen.

As per the Medina County Sheriff’s Office news release, the robbery, which took place while Sanders was playing the Ravens in Baltimore, was carried out by three men wearing masks and gloves. The police have obtained video footage of these men entering Sanders’ property at around 6:46 p.m. local time.

The video footage also shows the men coming out the same way they went in, carrying several bags worth of stolen property about 12 minutes after the break-in. The details of the items stolen are unclear, but the total damage amounts to approximately $200,000.

Sanders’ Tough Start to NFL Career

All the time while the burglary was taking place, Sanders was on the field for the Browns as he made his NFL debut in the game against the Ravens. Starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel exited the game just before the half due to a concussion, following which Sanders took over.

It was a rough evening for the rookie signal-caller on the field as well. He completed just 4 of his 16 pass attempts for only 67 yards, was sacked 2 times, and threw an interception. It was clearly not a good day for the 23-year-old, both on and off the field.

Sanders, however, may get another crack this week as Gabriel continues to recover from his concussion. If he isn’t medically cleared to play on Sunday, Sanders will make his debut start against the Las Vegas Raiders.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
