Shedeur Sanders’ Character Questioned By A Quarterbacks’ Coach At The Combine

When you are considered a top prospect leading up to the NFL draft, there are plenty of eyes on you targeting each and every minor move you make. Just ask Colorado Buffaloes’ star Sheduer Sanders who is getting ready for his professional career to take off following the 2025 draft in less than two months time.

Sanders, who is the son of Hall of Fame NFL player Deion Sanders, is entering the draft as the number two quarterback in this year’s class according to many experts. He was an instrumental part of the success the Buffaloes had this past season leading the team to a 9-4 record. With 4,134 passing yards, and 37 touchdowns to 10 interceptions, Sanders played a major role in helping to turn around the 4-7 team from 2023.

Although Sanders did not partake in the throwing drills and other workouts at the Combine, he was still present for the interview rounds with the media and teams. It is there that his character has come under fire, at least as per one quarterback coach from an unnamed team.

Sanders Interview With Teams Deemed Unprofessional

According to a report from senior NFL insider, Josina Anderson, a QB from one of the teams selecting in the top 7 of the draft has lashed out at Shedeur Sanders by terming him as both “arrogant” and “brash” during the team interview rounds.

Anderson jumped to the defense of Sanders and questioned the coach’s integrity, stating that the said coach’s assessment is completely opposite to that of what most of the reporters felt during Sanders’ media interview round. As a matter of fact, Anderson went on to describe how Sanders went out of his way to address reporters, even those whom he did not know, and was polite, cordial, and thoughtful during his media round.

Yet, it seems that Sanders’ two interaction sessions were polar opposite. The one with the media went smoothly and he won over their hearts, whereas the one with the teams was anything but that. In support of what the QB coach from an unnamed team said, NFL draft insider Todd McShay received similar feedback from two people who were present in the team meeting for Sanders, with one of them saying his approach was not professional.

McShay revealed on his podcast, The McShay Show, the following exchange he had with his sources, “The two people that I spoke to in these positions, left the meeting feeling like Shedeur Sanders was not overly concerned with what they thought of him. They had a 15-minute meeting with them, and when they were done, they both said in different ways, different words, that they did not feel like Shedeur Sanders cared all that much about what that organization thought of him.“

With Sanders not participating in the physical workouts at the Combine and with his behavior in question, it will be interesting to see the effect it has on his stock as the draft day approaches.
