Saquon Barkley is currently one of the finest running backs in the NFL. Playing in his seventh season in 2024, Barkley was a massive force to reckon with this year as he torched opposing defenses. The move from the New York Giants to the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason proved to be a match made in heaven for both.

Inserted into the backfield along with Jalen Hurts as a dual-threat quarterback, Philadelphia had an outstanding season going 14-3 continuing the domination in the postseason as well. Barkley’s contribution to the team was a huge part of their success, especially on the offensive side of the ball. He finished the regular season with 2,005 rushing yards, leading the league, and very nearly broke the regular season rushing record set by Eric Dickerson (2,105) in 1984.

Barkley’s performances throughout the season helped the Eagles reach the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

This Super Bowl victory was made all the more special for Barkley as he had two more reasons to celebrate along with his first Championship ring.

First and foremost, the New York native finished the year with the most rushing yards by an individual ever in the history of the NFL including the regular season and the postseason. Barkley passed the previous record held by former Denver Broncos’ great Terrell Davis who had a combined (2,008 regular season and 448 postseason) 2,476 yards on the ground in the 1998 season. Barkley eventually ended the season with 2,504 combined rushing yards.

Additionally, Barkley also celebrated his 28th birthday on the day of his Super Bowl victory making his day extra special.

How Many Super Bowls Has Saquon Barkley Been To?

Throughout his seven seasons in the NFL, the 3-time Pro Bowler has been to just his first Super Bowl in Super Bowl LIX. Incidentally, Barkley made his Super Bowl debut the same year he joined the Eagles.

Barkley spent the first six seasons of his career playing for the Giants. Although he had success on an individual level, the New York-based franchise lacked the overall quality to succeed as a team. Barkley and the Giants made the postseason only once in that time period but lost in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

On the back of one of the most dominant rushing seasons in the NFL, Barkley was going to be the main threat on the offense for Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIX. Knowing this, the Chiefs had a brilliant game plan to counter Barkley due to which he was held for just 57 yards on the ground from 25 carries for an average of 2.3 yards per carry.
