The Philadelphia Eagles had a dominant 2024 season, finishing with 18 total wins, tying an NFL record for most total wins in a season with the 1984 San Francisco 49ers 1985 Chicago Bears, and 2007 New England Patriots. They started 2-2 but won 12 of their last 13 games, ending with a 14-3 record. They nearly swept the NFC East, crushing the Cowboys, and the Giants, but had one loss against the Washington Commanders. Fast forward to the playoffs, they beat the Green Bay Packers in the wild card round, outlasted a dangerous L.A Rams team 28-22 in the divisional round, and dismantled the Washington Commanders this time around, with 55-23 as the final score in the NFC Championship round. The Eagles broke another record on the way to the Super Bowl trophy as they scored an astounding 145 points, averaging 36.3 points-per-game, which was the most ever.
The Eagles willed their way into the Super Bowl but they had to take on their nemesis, the Kansas City Chiefs who had previously beaten them before. Everybody favored the Chiefs to win their matchup and be crowed the first three-peat team of the NFL. Instead, the Eagles ridiculed the Chiefs, and blew them out of the building in the Super Bowl. Their defense, led by Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat sacked Mahomes six times and forced three turnovers, including a 38-yard pick-six by Cooper DeJean. Meanwhile, on the offense, Hurts played like a true MVP and Barkley’s presence alone was enough to make the Chiefs forget all about the Eagles’ passing game. The Eagles were up 24-0 at the halftime, and they remained scoreless until right around the end of the third quarter.

The Eagles’ running back, Saquon Barkley, recently hopped on the Exciting Mics podcast with his teammates Cooper DeJean, and their safety, Reed Blankenship. The three talked about how dominant the Eagles were and what exactly clicked for them. “I firmly believe when you look at our team that we had last year, I think we’re a top five team of all time. And I tell my boys this all the time.” Barkley said confidently about the Eagles’ Super Bowl run in the 2024-25 season. “If you look at the season, outside of the first four games, it was belt to a*s. How dominant you guys were on defense and how dominant we were on offense, and special team team. People don’t realize how great of a dominant team that actually was.”
The Philadelphia Eagles were a dominant team last season, and in our opinion nobody stood a chance against them last season. The Eagles were historically great offensively and defensively. We never saw the Chiefs losing the way they did, and Nick Sirianni just became one of the few coaches to have beaten the Chiefs team that was the heavy favorite to win the trophy for third straight season.
However, each season is different and nothing is ever promised in sports. So it will be interesting to see how the Eagles navigate through this season, which many of their players from last year, on different teams, and the NFC significantly getting stronger with all the off season trades.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
