The Rockets host the Nuggets on Sunday, March 23.
The Denver Nuggets will clash against the Houston Rockets in the final leg of their four-game road trip. The Nuggets are coming off a two-game losing streak, with the Trail Blazers handing them a 128-109 loss in their previous fixture.
On the other hand, the Rockets will enter the game on the back of a nine-game winning streak. As they lock horns with the Nuggets on Sunday, March 23, the Rockets will aim to extend their winning streak to ten.
While the 2023 champions look to build on their last two wins, they are dealing with a major injury setback that could impact the game’s outcome. They will be without superstar center Nikola Jokic, who is sidelined with ankle and elbow injuries. The three-time MVP sustained the injuries during the team’s 140-127 win over the Thunder on March 10.
The incident took place in the first quarter of the game when he collided with Chet Holmgren, and landed awkwardly. While Jokic finished the game for the Nuggets, he felt discomfort in his elbow.
The 30-year-old, who is currently behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the MVP race, is averaging 29.1 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.3 assists in 62 games he has played this season.

Nikola Jokic has been out of action since the Warriors clash. He missed the Lakers’ as well as the Trail Blazers’ game. While the Nuggets managed to have an edge over the Warriors, Jokic’s absence was strongly felt in the next two games.
Unfortunately, Jokic will continue to remain out of action with left ankle impingement, according to the official NBA injury report. This will be the fourth straight game that Serbian will miss.

Apart from him, the injury report has also listed DaRon Holmes II and Julian Strawther out with right achilles tendon repair and left knee sprain, respectively. Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon and Christian Vraun have been listed as probable in the report.
