Firmino’s Future: Real Madrid’s Interest and Premier League Comeback Speculation

Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino made a move to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ahli in July 2023. In early 2025, Due to foreign player regulations, Firmino was left out from Al-Ahli’s 25-player squad for the rest of the Saudi Pro League season. Limiting him to Asian Cup games only, the Brazilian striker has missed heavy piece of action over the past six months.

Following this sequence, Firmino is reported to make an exit from Al-Ahli over the summer. With several reports from England and his home country Brazil linking to him, Firmino will have a decision to make should he look for a new home at the end of the season.

Real Madrid Could Pursue Roberto Firmino This Summer

Real Madrid has a stacked squad in terms of attacking prowess. However, the Los Blancos have lacked the old-school positional threat players like Karim Benzema and then Joselu possessed.

This lack of versatility has sparked that new Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso could set eyes for a striker this summer. As per the latest reports per SI, Among the many on the scouting list, Firmino could be a possible recruitment at the Spanish capital this summer.

Firmino Premier League Comeback: Arsenal and Fulham in the Race?

Firmino has been linked to the North London club Arsenal heavily since February 2025. With the Gunners in need of a striker following Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus’ injury, Mikel Arteta was speculated to be approaching a new striker. Other than Arsenal, Fulham, Chelsea and Sheffield United were also said to be in talks of recruiting Firmino.

Fulham was one of the teams offered the chance to sign Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino in January 2024. Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore also suggested that Fulham should sign Firmino, citing his potential to complement their current striker, Raul Jimenez.

Firmino had a decorated career with Liverpool being their leading man in the first Premier League. Having longevity with a rare flair in strikers, Firmino could make the most out of the fast-paced wingers around him.

Other than Firmino, Ante Budimir and Willian Jose have also been among the names with links to Real Madrid. Following a Trophyless season and the Club World Cup 2025 approaching, Alonso and Real Madrid will be keen to fill in the voids at the earliest.
