Rob Gronkowski has made his pick for the Chiefs-Bills game and some fans won’t be happy!

Gronk backs the Chiefs, leaving Bills fans frustrated.

Rob Gronkowski is doubling down against his hometown team. After predicting a Ravens win over the Bills last week—only to be proven wrong—the former tight end is siding with the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

On Wednesday’s Up & Adams Show, Gronkowski explained his reasoning. He claimed his earlier prediction was part of a “reverse psychology” tactic aimed at helping Buffalo succeed.

“I told them all I was playing that reverse psychology … I really wanted the Bills to win, so I’m actually gonna go with the Kansas City Chiefs,” he said. “They’re gonna pull it off, and they’re gonna win by four.”

Gronkowski didn’t stop there. He offered some pointed advice to Buffalo defenders, touching on recent criticism of questionable roughing-the-passer calls during Chiefs games.

“When they sack Patrick Mahomes, just touch him,” Gronk joked. “Don’t do anything more. Don’t throw him too hard down on the ground. You might get a penalty.”

The jab came as part of a broader commentary on Buffalo’s challenges in facing Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium, where Mahomes and the Chiefs have historically been dominant.

Buffalo’s uphill battle against Kansas City in the playoffs

Buffalo has shown it can beat Kansas City in the regular season, winning four straight matchups, including a 30-21 victory in Week 11. But the playoffs have been a different story. Josh Allen and the Bills are 0-3 against Mahomes and the Chiefs in postseason play.

This AFC Championship marks only the second time Buffalo has reached this stage since 1994. Their last AFC title win, in 1993, also came against Kansas City. To make history this Sunday, they’ll have to overcome a bitter playoff nemesis.

Though Gronkowski picked Kansas City, his Buffalo roots run deep. Born in Amherst, NY, just outside Buffalo, he grew up a fan of the team. His comments suggest that, while his prediction favors the Chiefs, he wouldn’t mind seeing the Bills finally break through.

Interestingly, Gronk has also played a pivotal role in stopping Mahomes in the past. He was part of the Patriots team that defeated Kansas City in the 2018 AFC Championship Game and later helped Tampa Bay dominate them in Super Bowl LV.

All eyes on the AFC title clash

This Sunday, the Chiefs and Bills face off at Arrowhead Stadium at 6:30 p.m. ET, with the game airing on CBS. For fans, it’s the latest chapter in a growing rivalry between two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

Whether Gronk’s prediction will hold true or Buffalo will finally conquer Kansas City remains to be seen. One thing is certain: not all fans will agree with his pick.
