Key Injuries, Predicted Lineups & Match Preview for the Crucial La Liga Clash on April 5.

Real Madrid will welcome Valencia on Saturday afternoon at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga. After confirming their place in the Copa del Rey final in their last match, they are now looking for their fourth straight league win. They are sitting second in the league table, trailing leaders Barcelona by three points.

With such a small point gap, Los Blancos cannot afford any slip-ups in the title race. In their last game they faced Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg match on April 1. This ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw but Los Blancos had a 1-goal advantage from the first leg.

That helped them progress to the final where they will face Barcelona on April 26. For now, their focus now shifts to La Liga before they turn to the tough Champions League matches against Arsenal. Meanwhile, Valencia, currently sitting in 15th position, are boasting a four-match unbeaten streak, including their most recent 1-0 win over Mallorca.

However, their dismal away form cannot be denied. They haven’t won a single away match and collected just seven points on the road all season. Even so, Carlos Corberan’s side will arrive slightly fresher, having last played on March 30. The odds are not in their favour going into this match though with their last league win at the Bernabeu dating back to 2008.

Added to these, both teams dealing with key injuries, the match becomes more interesting.

Thibaut Courtois is still sidelined due to a persistent muscle injury. However, he is expected to make a return for their Champions League clash with Arsenal. Hence, Andriy Lunin should continue in goal even though he himself is nursing a calf issue. They still have youngster Fran Gonzalez on standby if needed.

Ferland Mendy and Dani Ceballos are both ruled out for this fixture but depending on their recovery status, they could be back next week. Long-term absentees Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are still unavailable. Antonio Rudiger and Kylian Mbappe should return to the lineup, with Fran Garcia starting at left-back.

Valencia are also missing several key players as their opponents, heading into their visit to Madrid. Thierry Correia and Cristian Rivero are unavailable due to injury. On the other hand, Luis Rioja, Jose Gaya, and Dimitri Foulquier will all serve respective suspensions in this game.

Coach Carlos Corberan could make three changes from the side that started against Mallorca. Yarek Gasiorowski could start at left-back in the midst of defensive option shortages, while Fran Perez and Jesus Vazquez may also come into the lineup.
