Tyler Huntley became the Baltimore Ravens’ third quarterback to start a game this season when they took the field against the Chicago Bears on Sunday’s Week 8 encounter. Playing well within himself and taking what he got, Huntley managed to help the team to a 30-16 win over the Bears.

And while that was some good news after weeks of distress, the Ravens know that with their season on the line, they need their franchise quarterback back under center, else the postseason could be well beyond reach.

Lamar Jackson Injury Update

Ravens’ fans can breathe a sigh of relief as it now seems more than likely that Lamar Jackson will be back in the middle of the field ahead of Baltimore’s Week 9 clash against the Miami Dolphins.

After having missed the last three games in which the Ravens succumbed to two more defeats, the latest update from head coach John Harbaugh seems to suggest that Jackson should be ready to take on the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football in a couple of days.

Ravens’ head coach, John Harbaugh, said that he “felt very confident about it (Lamar Jackson starting in week 9), and that we expect him to be out there Thursday night.”

Ravens Season Woes through Week 8

Baltimore began this season as one of the favorites from the AFC, but as the initial few weeks went by, it became evident that this Ravens team was not playing as well as they played last season.

The main problem lies on the defensive side of the ball. And although the defense was much better in Week 8 against the Bears, the Ravens are bottom five in yards per game allowed, third from last in points allowed per game with 30, bottom 5 with just 2 interceptions, and 31st in the league with a -6 turnover differential.

After a two month rough start and a million questions, there was a semblance of the unit we EXPECTED before the season.

With Browns, Bengals, Steelers losses and 8 (maybe?) returning … there's a buzz in Baltimore.

However, for his part, Lamar Jackson has performed admirably in the four games that he has played this season. Jackson has 869 passing yards, 166 rushing yards, a completion percentage of 71.6%, along with 11 total touchdowns to just 1 interception, for a passer rating of 130.5.

With the AFC North still up for grabs, a good run of positive results could go a long way in helping the Ravens get back into playoff contention. And all that could begin with Thursday’s game against the struggling Miami Dolphins with Jackson under center.
