Brazilian Winger Shares Passion for Barça and Confidence for High-Stakes Real Madrid Showdown

Raphinha joined FC Barcelona after rescuing Leeds United from the relegation battle in 2023. Leading the lines from the front, the Brazilian has thrived under Hansi Flick this season. Moreover, with the squad headed towards more trophies, Raphinha could just be enough to become the player of the year this season.

After a successful season with 25 G/A in La Liga in 35 games, Raphinha has hinted at looking forward to his years with FC Barcelona. Insisting on the greatness of the Spanish club, the 28-year-old dropped hints on signing an extension with Barcelona.

Ahead of the FC Barcelona clash against Real Madrid, Raphinha expressed strong belief in the Blaugrana. Hinting at the Spanish club as the key to success, Raphinha, in his interview, said:

“Thinking about reaching the top of football without Barcelona is illogical,” said the former Leeds United player. “Honestly, I’m enjoying this moment so much. I never imagined it, not even in my dreams.”

Raphinha also reflected on his performance this season, emphasising his dedication to improvement: “I’m putting in the effort to give my best.” I think I’m doing well, and I hope to continue like this.”

As the El Clasico approaches, Raphinha also emphasised the significance and importance of the upcoming match as he continued:

“Clasicos are played like finals. It’s a different match, something special. The whole city stops. The entire world watches,” he said. “Until the moment we walk into the stadium, everything is very tense before a Clasico. There’s tension in all games, but this one is more intense.”

With only four points separating Real Madrid and Barcelona in the league table, Sunday’s match holds significant importance in determining the title race winner. “Both of us are fighting for La Liga. There’s no better or worse team here. I think we’re well prepared and we’ll get a great result,”
