PSG Boss Backs Philosophy, Confirms Dembele’s Availability Ahead of Champions League Second Leg at Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique addressed the press ahead of Wednesday’s highly anticipated Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal. His side is holding a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg clash credit to an early strike from Ousmane Dembele.

However, the French striker suffered a hamstring injury in the same match. He became a doubt for this leg. However, he returned to team training and is available for selection. Enrique confirmed in the press conference, saying, “It has been two days that he was able to train with us… tomorrow, yes, he will be available to play.”

The French forward’s potential return is a boost. Even so, Enrique emphasized that PSG’s strength lies in their collective identity. He told the press, “Honestly, I don’t believe that any one area of the team is superior to the others. Regardless of the players, that’s one of Paris Saint-Germain’s great strengths this season.”

Unity and Identity Key to PSG’s Philosophy

The Spanish coach reiterated the importance of consistency and character across the squad. Highlighting the team’s tactical discipline, Enrique said, “We’re not a team that speculates, no matter who our opponents are. It’s not easy to do, you have to follow very clear principles.”

He also focused on maintaining the club’s high standards at home, saying, “We want to be aggressive, show our personality on the ball, and repeat areas of our play. With the quality that we have, I feel we have an advantage, and I am very confident.”

Enrique reminded that the Parc des Princes atmosphere will be crucial. He knows the overwhelming support of the fans will be there at the stadium and they will have to give justice to that cheer. He pressed, “We have to show the confidence that our supporters have shown us… give it back to them, in terms of efforts and mental intelligence.”

Praise for Arteta, Reflection on Growth

Speaking about their opponent, Enrique praised Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, whom he once shared a dressing room with at Barcelona. He acknowledged, “He was a great player and he’s a great coach. The match will be difficult, as it was in the first leg.”

The PSG manager concluded by reflecting on his own impact on his team as a coach: “I try to bring individual and collective skills. One of my objectives was to offer the fans an attractive way of playing—like going to the cinema or a show.”

With confidence, clarity, and key players like Dembele back in the fold, PSG appear ready to book their place in the final against Inter Milan. However, it won’t come easy considering Arsenal also got a squad boost with a few players set to be back. Even without them, the Gunners dominated the first leg for a large amount of time and they will again give a tough fight.
