Phoenix Suns vs New Orleans Pelicans Match Preview

Suns: Big names, small returns

The Phoenix Suns will come into the game after a 3-point Overtime loss against the Memphis Grizzlies despite a 28-point effort by Devin Booker. They have lost two in a row and hold a disappointing 2-9 record in February. The trio of Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal hasn’t been able to figure out how to close out games and their defense hasn’t been up-to-the mark either. In February, they have given up 126.4 points per game thus far, the worst effort in the league during the month. Their rebounding has been in tatters too as they have allowed 14.2 offensive rebounds per game in Feb, again the worst performance.

Expected Starting Lineup

PG/SG: Devin Booker | SG: Bradley Beal | PF: Kevin Durant | PF/C: Bol Bol | C: Nick Richards

Injuries: Monte Morris and Cody Martin are OUT.

Pelicans: More questions than answers

The Pelicans will enter the game after a 6-point win against the San Antonio Spurs as Trey Murphy III had an impressive 24-point performance. They have won three of their last four games, but they are 3-11 in their last 14 games. The situation is dire because even their franchise face Zion Williamson hasn’t been the answer. The squad has a 6-15 record with the Pelicans forward, showing the appalling lack of depth around him. It has a lot to do with the departure of Brandon Ingram and the absence of Dejounte Murray, but there are doubts about their direction overall.

Expected Starting Lineup

PG/SG: CJ McCollum | SG: Trey Murphy III | SF: Zion Williamson | PF: Kelly Olynyk | C: Yves Missi

Injuries: Herbert Jones and Dejounte Murray are OUT.

Phoenix Suns vs New Orleans Pelicans Total Over/Under Prediction

The Suns have regularly given up 120+ points and despite all their inconsistencies, the Pels know how to take advantage of lax defense. Meanwhile, the Suns are a loaded offensive team but have played some of their worst offense this month. It can change against a Pels squad that regularly gives up 120+ points. Thus, I see a high-scoring game, with the total going past 250.

Phoenix Suns Player Props Predictions- Projected Top Bets & Odds

Devin Booker to score 28+ points: DB has tallied 28.3 PPG in February, scoring 28 or more six times this month already. I expect the Suns SG to score over 30 points here.

Bradley Beal to score at least 24 points: The high-scoring guard is having his best scoring month, tallying 23 PPG in February. He has gone past the 20–point mark in six out of the last eight games.

New Orleans Pelicans Player Props Predictions – Projected Top Bets & Odds

Zion Williamson to score at least 25 points: The Pelicans forward has scored 26.1 PPG in February, going past the 25-point mark in four games. I expect to score in the 26-29 points range here.

Trey Murphy III to score at least 23 points: The guard has put up 20 or fewer points in five of the last seven games. I expect him to notch similar scoring numbers here.

Phoenix Suns vs New Orleans Pelicans Match Prediction

The Suns have not done a good job of holding the fort even against struggling squads, thus, they are not automatic favorites here. Meanwhile, the Pels have shown tremendous fighting spirit under Williamson’s leadership. However, I expect KD and Co. to show their true offensive chops here and bury the Pels by a big margin. They can win by a difference of 9+ points.

Safe Spread Pick: Suns -8.5 at BetMGM
