Pogba is on the verge of a dramatic return to European football following the end of his doping suspension.

Paul Pogba has signaled towards a sensational return to football after serving an 18-month doping ban. The dynamic French midfielder hinted at his next move with a social media post that has sent fans into a frenzy. Once the most expensive player in the world, Pogba posted a photo of himself training in a Real Madrid shirt and he captioned the post, “I think it’s time.”

It’s the clearest sign yet that Pogba is ready to return to European action. Pogba’s last competitive appearance was a brief 29-minute outing for Juventus in September 2023. The 31-year-old hasn’t played a full 90 minutes since March 2022 during his final stretch with Manchester United.

After testing positive for DHEA, Pogba was handed a four-year ban in early 2024. The decision was later overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, reducing the suspension to 18 months and making him eligible to return from March 2025. Pogba even admitted that he nearly walked away from football altogether.

Now, the former World Cup winner looks rejuvenated and determined to make a comeback. He’s been training privately in the U.S., working on fitness. Pogba is on the verge of a dramatic return to European football following the end of his doping suspension. According to reports, Pogba has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. Notably, Monaco finished third in Ligue 1 last season and also secured Champions League qualification.

While several Saudi clubs had approached Pogba with big-money offers, Pogba is said to be focused on staying in Europe and competing at the highest level. With Monaco preparing for a upcoming 2025-26 season, the club sees Pogba’s experience and leadership as key assets. Pogba has won 91 caps for France and was also a key part of the squad that lifted the World Cup in 2018.

The former Juventus and Manchester United star is expected to be unveiled officially by Monaco in the coming days. If all goes according to plan, the football world could witness one of the most high-profile comebacks in recent years.
