‘Going to Be Painful’ – Packers’ Micah Parsons Issues Warning to Dak Prescott and the Cowboys Ahead of Week 4 Sunday Night Football Clash!

Micah Parsons to return to Dallas with mixed feelings ahead of week 4 matchup

Sunday Night Football in week 4 is about to bring us one of the most-awaited matchups in the league as the Green Bay Packers make the trip down south to face the Dallas Cowboys. It will be the first time former Cowboys’ pass rusher Micah Parsons returns to his home of four years, but this time in the green and yellow of the Packers.

After a long, drawn out contract extension saga all through the offseason, Dallas finally shipped Parsons to Green Bay at the end of August. The 4-time Pro Bowler is now set to return within a month’s time, as he gets ready to face his former team.

Parsons on His Return to Dallas

For a player of the stature of Micah Parsons, the emotions are sure to be a mixed bag. After all, he is set to come back to a place where his footballing journey began and where he rose to fame as the leader of the Cowboys’ defense.

Along the way throughout his four-year stint in Dallas, Parsons became close friends with his teammates, and none more so than quarterback Dak Prescott. Speaking with Rob Maadi of the Associated Press ahead of the week 4 clash, Parsons shared how it would feel to go up against his former colleague and close friend.

“It’s going to be painful,” Parsons told Maadi. “That’s my guy. He was always like a good mentor for me. But you know how it is. He always told me if I ever faced him that it’ll be a great matchup, so I’m excited to see what Sunday brings itself.”

As the two players line up on opposite sides of the line of scrimmage on Sunday, the moment is going to feel uncanny on many levels, not only for Prescott and Parsons but for the entire Cowboys fanbase as well. Imagine how it would feel if Parsons were to end up sacking his former quarterback, something he described as a painful feeling.

Packers and Cowboys Defense Following Parsons Trade

There are no surprises in guessing that Dallas has been struggling mightily on the defensive side of the ball ever since Parsons left. In three games, they have given up 92 points and rank in the bottom three for average yards conceded.

On the contrary, the Packers’ defense is flourishing with Parsons at the center of attention for the opposition. The Packers currently rank fifth in the league with 10 sacks, and although Parsons himself has just 1.5 of those, his presence has been a boon for the others around him.

Sunday night in Texas is set to be an emotional one for all. Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones has already made it clear that there will be no tribute for Parsons upon his return, but what is left to see is how the crowd responds to one of their former favorites as he takes the field against them.
