After Warriors’ 99-104 win over the Orlando Magic on Monday, Stephen Curry gave his thoughts on Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade.
Last week, the NBA saw one of the biggest trades in recent memory. The Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis and a 2029 first-round pick. The news shocked the league, and players like Kevin Durant and Anthony Edwards were left stunned by the move. Now, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has shared his thoughts on the trade.
After Warriors’ 99-104 win over the Orlando Magic on Monday, Curry spoke to the media. The veteran guard said the trade showed how few players in the league can truly rest easy, knowing they won’t be traded.
“It’s a reminder that there are only a few in this league that can go to sleep with any type of confidence,” Curry said. “Just because of how out of the blue it was—no hints, no rumors, not a single sign – especially after they came out of the finals. That’s a reminder that there are only a few in this league that can go to sleep with any type of confidence.”

The trade between the Lakers and Mavericks was reportedly kept under wraps, with even Doncic and Davis being unaware of the deal. ESPN’s Shams Charania was the first to break the news of the blockbuster trade, leaving many wondering if the veteran reporter’s account had been hacked.

“It’s a very unique situation. The idea that this happened is pretty crazy. When you hear a trade like that, you think somebody’s hacked. It’s hilarious“, Curry further added.

Both Davis and Doncic, after posting farewell messages to their former teammates and fans, have joined their new teams. However, both stars are currently sidelined due to injuries.
While Doncic has been out of action since Christmas Day game with left calf strain, Davis has been recovering from an abdominal muscle strain.
