LeBron James drops first reaction on Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis blockbuster trade

LeBron James was informed about the deal after the Lakers' game against the Knicks.

Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks completed a blockbuster trade before the deadline day as Luka Doncic has been traded for Anthony Davis. ESPN first reported this news when the Lakers were playing against the Knicks and LeBron James made his first reaction on this deal.

The 40-year-old guard was not happy with the reporting going after the trade. NBA insider Bill Reiter shared an insight on Anthony Davis’ departure from the Lakers. “LeBron had grown frustrated with Anthony Davis,” Bill Reiter spoke to the anchor on CBS Sports.

LeBron James denied all the backstories involving Anthony Davis, who moved to the Dallas Mavericks in the three-team deal. The veteran guard replied with a retweet, “You a fkn lie!!!” including an emoji of an joker.

As per reports, LeBron James was informed about the deal after the Lakers’ game against the Knicks on Saturday. The 21-time All-Star was heading for dinner with his family and “James was surprised by the news, is processing it and had no idea it was in the works”, sources told Dave McMenamin.

LeBron James scored his 10th triple-double of the season with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Los Angeles Lakers snapped the New York Knicks’ four-game winning streak on Saturday night with a 128-112 win at MSG. He become the first player in NBA history to record multiple triple-doubles at the age of 40 or older.

Utah Jazz will be the third team in this blockbuster deal. Lakers will also receive Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris from the Mavericks. Max Christie will join Anthony Davis to play for Dallas.

Utah Jazz will get Jalen Hood-Schifin including the 2025 Clippers 2nd pick and the 2025 Mavericks 2nd pick. 2029 Lakers 1st pick will also taken by Dallas Mavericks in this deal.
